Swim for Hope
In partnership with Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador, this fun event consists of a 12-hour continuous swim relay where participants collect pledges from individual and corporate sponsors. Participation in Swim for Hope involves young people across the province working as a team in an atmosphere of friendly rivalry against time constraints and other competing teams. During the past fifteen years, over $1.1 million has been raised from this event! Typically, there are approximately 1,000 participants each year, ranging in age from 6 to adult.
Funds raised support both the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation and Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador. Proceeds received by the clubs of Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador are used to support swimming clubs across the province and to encourage the sport of competitive swimming.
This event is proudly sponsored by Subway.
